Helsinki with opportunities for everyone

Hi! I’m Olesia Kova, and I’m running in Helsinki’s municipal elections.

My background is in arts and culture — whether I was performing at Flow Festival or organising events at the National Gallery, I’ve seen firsthand how culture brings people together and creates a sense of belonging.

Lately, I’ve been working as a diversity expert at Culture for All, collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Culture to make the local art industry more diverse and inclusive.

Why running for the City Council?

Helsinki is a home for many cultures: 20% of its residents come from cultural and linguistic minorities, and I’m proud to be part of that diversity as a member of the Tatar minority.

Culture is what makes Helsinki unique, and every resident deserves equal opportunities and access to city services. By fostering inclusion and equity, we can make Helsinki a more diverse, fair, and welcoming city for all.

I also want to inspire young immigrants to pursue their dreams and strengthen the connection between City Council and our cultural communities.

My campaign in a nutshell:

Equality and equity everywhere in Helsinki

Accessible mental health services for everyone

Diverse cultural events, festivals and vibrant
city life
